One day a knight was sent on a mission to battle by the king.
He wore dark heavy armor and never revealed his face to anyone.
All that was known about him was, his name. Orochimaru.
If you were lucky you'd see his eyes, but that only meant your death was near.
He had partners. A female knight, Tsunade, a woman whom everyone called, "sexy", and was an expert theif.
A strong, male knight, his name was Juriya. He was. . .a quiet one himself, he only spoke when found nesessary, and was extremely powerful as well.
And the last knight at Orochimaru's disposal or maybe in an odd sort of way. . . was at his side to help, Kira.
The youngest knight, and the most cowardly. . . -_-'
- - -
The dark knight fought his way mercilessly past the crowd, fighting, killing, hurting one another and ended up separated from his partners.
What Orochimaru did not notice was the ememy hiding in the thicket of tress and bushes.
He was caught off guard and hurt severly. They carried his body to a waterfall, then tossed him over the edge.
Somehow, he survived the great fall and was carried down to a riverbank. reaching the end of the riverbank, Mikume reached his hand out and pulled himself to the shore.
He shakely worked his way onto his feet and moved over to a large rock and sat upon it.
What nobody in the battlefeild knew was that a single woman lived alone by the riverbank below. She was harmless woman who was always alone.
Her name was Kabuto Yakushi.
On the day of the fight she decided she would make her way out to the river to say "hello" to the fish.
When she came out, her soft black eyes looked up to see a figure sitting on the large rock. To her curiousity, she tip toed up to the figure.
She looked closely and saw, it was just a knight. She took in a deep breath and nervously poked him.
Orochimaru looked up to see a light-skinned woman with silver, shiny, thick, long, and super soft hair. Her eyes were like refined black crystals. Her skin looked delicate to the touch. She wore a simple purple dress with floral designs at the bottom of it.
Orochimaru looked only for a few seconds before passing out.
Kabuto caught the knight in her arms before he hit the ground. She was unaware he was injured because of his armor being so dark. She slipped his right arm over her shoulder and put her right arm around his back and struggled back to her home.
Bursting through the door of her cozy little home she quickly set him down on the bed and forced his armor off. She needed to see his body to help him.
Taking off the front of his armor going across his chest, an incredebly deep cut going from his left shoulder down to his right hip was revealed. Blood poured from his cut.
Kabuto removed his armor comepletely and scrammbled to her feet. She went to her living room and grabbed all of her medical treatments and things.
For two hours, Kabuto worked tirelessly on Orochimaru's wound, and other minor injuries.
Once she finished, she sighed and pulled a chair up to the bed. Sitting patiently, she examined the knight carefully.
His skin was pale, and covered with scars, his hair was dark, and spikey with silver ends. To her surprise, this knight had ears on his head. They were like cat ears.
Mary looked over and saw he had a matching tail. It was black with a silver end as well.
She wasn't too surprised but she did not see that coming at all. She shrugged and grabbed a book from her tiny shelf.
A few more hours later the knight stirred a bit and groaned a little. Kabuto was still reading and looked up to see if he was ok.
"He's sweating quiet a bit." She thought. "He may have a fever. . ."
Orochimaru woke up and tried to see where he was. He was unaware of his surroundings and tried to sit up only to slam himself back down from the pain of his injury.
"Oh! Please be careful! Y-y-y-you're injured. . ." A voice stuturred.
Orochimaru growled, "Who the hell are you!?"
Kabuto slumped down in her seat and sat back up, "I'm Kabuto," She tried to smile a little.
The knight paused. He realized this was the woman from earlier.
"Oh." He said with no emotion.
"Um, are you ok now?" She asked.
"Uh, yes. . ." He paused again. ". . .Thanks. I guess."
"You're welcome." She simled sweetly.
"How much do I owe you?" He turned his head over to her.
"No charge. Its ok." She said while putting her book away for later.
"I don't know. I think I could at least pay you something." He looked down at his pants pocket.
"Oh no. Don't worry yourself about it. I never charge anyone. It's ok. Really." She smiled, "I'm sorry. I'm being rude. Would you like something to drink?"
Orochimaru paused, "Yes."
"Ok. I'll go make tea." Kabuto stood up and left.
Orochimaru layed still under the covers of the woman's bed.
"What is with this woman? Why would she help me? Does she even know who I am!?" He thought.
Kabuto came back a few minutes later and carried two hot cups of tea in her hands.
"Here. Please be careful, its hot." She handed the cup to the knight slowly.
Orochimaru reached his arm out and took the cup.
"Thanks," He mumbled.
The two odd people sat in her bedroom for a few minutes sipping their tea and said nothing.
The silence was broken by a cough from the injured knight.
"Sorry but. . . are you sure you're ok?" Kabuto looked up to the knights eyes. His bright, yellow, cat-stripped eyes.
Orochimaru blinked with a confused look, then his look grew dark and hateful.
"Why are you helping me?" He growled at her.
"Hm? I j-j-just wanted to h-help you. Y-y-you were i-i-injured s-s-s-s-so. . . ." She blushed a bit embarassed, "I didn't want you to die."
Orochimaru coughed again, "Wh-what!? You're not serious are you?" He glared but not at her. He glared at what she said.
"No, no. I'm serious. It'd be terrible if you died!" She looked sadly at his eyes. "I mean, wouldn't you're family be sad?"
Orochimaru's cat ears went down, clearly his family either didn't love him or his family was gone.
"I have no family."
"Oh. I'm sorry." She looked sadder.
"No. Its ok." Orochimaru coughed again.
Kabuto reached over and placed two fingers gently on his forehead.
"Oh! You've got a fever. I'll go get something to treat that." She stood up again and left.
Orochimaru lied there alone again without thinking.
Kabuto returned quickly with unusual herbs, a bowl, another cup of hot tea, a small grinder, a small cup of cold water, and a clean, white rag. With great haste she sat down, put the herbs in the bowl grinded them to powder, and poured the tea in carefully and stirred the concoction.
She blew on the medicene and reached over for Orochimaru's head. Supporting his head with her right hand, she used her left and put the medicene close to his lips.
"Drink this. It'll make your fever go down." She remained still, waiting for his approval.
Orochimaru nodded and lifted his hands to the bowl to drink it.
The taste wasn't entirely pleasant, but it did help.
Kabuto took the rag and cup of water in her hands. She dipped the rag slowly in the cup and wrung the dripping water from the rag back into the cup. She put the cup on the ground, folded the rag and placed it on Mikume's forehead very gently.
"There. Does that help?" She asked.
Orochimaru paused again and nodded.
Kabuto smiled and sat back down. She couln't help but to stare at his ears and tail. They were so unusual but she liked them.
"What? What are you staring at?" Orochimaru looked at her.
"Hmm? Oh, sorry. It's just, I've never met someone with ears and a tail before. I thought I was the only "odd child" left in the kingdom." She frowned a little.
"Oh trust me, you're not." He laughed. "Why do you keep saying "sorry"? It's not like you're doing anything wrong."
". . .Forgive me. It's just. . . ." She looked away.
Orochimaru could tell something happened that made her the way she is.
"Nevermind. You don't have to tell me." He stared out the window.
The sun was setting.
"Oh my. Its getting late. Um, I'd imagine you haven't eaten in a while. Would you like something to eat?" Kabuto asked.
It was quiet for a minute. The next thing they heard was the knight's stomach growl very loudly.
"Yes please. . ." He said very embarrassed.
"Ok." Kabuto smiled. She bit down on her lip trying not to laugh. She stood up again and went to make him something to eat.
Later, Kabuto returned with a nice hot plate of food for Orochimaru and a cup of water.
"I don't have much but here." She sits him up and sets the plat down in his lap and hands him his glass.
"Thanks!" He smiled. "But. . . what about you?"
Kabuto had no plate for herself.
"Oh, I'll be ok. You don't have to worry." She sat quietly watching him.
"Ok. Before I forget, my name. I'm Orochimaru. I never told you. Sorry 'bout that." He looked a bit sad.
"Orochimaru. . . That's a name you don't hear everyday. I like it." She smiled.
The knight stopped eating to see a sadly smiling Kabuto and looked down.
"Um. . ." Orochimaru mummbled something to Kabuto.
"Hmm?" She looked over to him.
"Would you please eat with me? I can't stand seeing you sit there with nothing." He blushed somewhat.
"Oh." She looked a bit surprised, "Thank you."
They ate the meal together and caught each other sneaking peeks at one another.
After a week at Kabuto's little home, Orochimaru grabbed his things about ready to leave.
"You're leaving already?" She poked her head through the kitchen doorway.
"Sorry. I'd be putting you in danger if I stayed longer." Orochimaru started to walk out to the door.
Kabuto without hesitation, threw herself against the knight's back. Wrapping her delicate arms around him.
"I'm sorry. But. . ." She pulled away sad knowing this was the end. "I'm just going to miss you. You're the first real friend I've ever made. . ."
"Kabuto. . ." Orochimaru turned around. He slowly removed his helmet and kissed the young lady very softly.
"Thank you."
